A paper on formal verification techniques has been presented at the "Journées Neptune". It details the use of advanced algorithms to verify systems, and uses PolyORB as a case study to apply these techniques.

2004-08-06: PolyORB at the "Journées Aonix"

Fabrice Kordon gave a talk on the formal verification of complex distributed systems, and detailed a case study on PolyORB.

2004-07-06: PolyORB 1.1r released

This is the latest release of PolyORB. This release contains a CORBA compatible instanciation of the generic middleware PolyORB.

This release is a snapshot of current research work on middleware architecture carried out by the ENST and the LIP6-SRC. This release is not supported by Ada Core Technologies or ACT Europe.

In addition to PolyORB 1.0p, it includes:

a significant increase in performance (30%-40%),
fixes for several bugs and memory leaks,
extended support for CORBA and GIOP specifications,
the PolyORB User's Guide,
the MIOP/UIPMC protocol stack, Unreliable Multicast Inter-ORB Protocol, following the OMG standard,
the DIOP protocol stack, Datagram-based Inter-ORB Protocol, a specialization of GIOP for oneway requests.

This CORBA implementation can be configured for a full tasking, Ravenscar tasking or no tasking runtime.

This release should be considered as a stable implementation of a CORBA middleware over PolyORB.

Other instanciations of PolyORB are available in the CVS public tree for tests. They will be included in future releases.
